NEON JUNGLE - TROUBLE (SHAROQUE REMIX)

This remix isn't so much looking for trouble as looking for the dancefloor. Rebellious girlband upstarts Neon Jungle's latest single "Trouble" gets a retro funky house remix that transports it from bedroom to Miami Beach, driven by an irresistible piano hook.

ICONA POP - GIRLFRIEND (CHAINSMOKERS REMIX)

"Girlfriend" is already a speeding down a highway song, but NY duo Chainsmokers take it one step further so don't be surprised if your car takes off during playback. It's got a gorgeous progressive house build-up and a heart-stopping drop that will rattle your bones. And your girlfriend's.

ELLIE GOULDING - BURN (DRIFTA REMIX)

As catchy as "Burn" is, it's plodding dancehall rhythm encourages more of a sway than a full on gleeful body contortion. So it's just as well that London producer Drifta acted on the potential that we all saw, to turn it into a full on rave anthem. The Drum & Bass throb suits the track so well, and given Goulding's recent fondness for the genre, Drifta's remix could almost be an original - download it for FREE from the SoundCloud widget above.

EXS - Sunshine (feat. Jason Jones)

It's not uncommon for drum & bass acts to revel in the summer months, with big commercial D&B anthems such as "Hot Right Now", "Out The Blue" and "Feel The Love" having gleefully soundtracked the last couple of festival summers, but rarely is a tune so blatant in its target audience, and indeed target season. UK electronic duo EXS team up with the gravelly voiced Jason Jones, another in a string of bluesy male vocalists to add to the Drum & Bass feature singer elite, to create something blissfully euphoric. Loosely channelling Bob Marley's famous "The sun is shining" refrain may seem like a cop-out chorus move, but any cynicism is lost midst the impossibly bright pads, breakneck beats and ethereal voice of Jason Jones, who goes through impressive runs as if he's training for a marathon.

Amelia Lily - Party Over

Every now and again I have to defend a pop song purely on its cheese merit. And "Party Over", the latest single from the not-quite-branded Amelia Lily, has a cheese distinction. DJ Fresh-tastic drum & bass lite, with jolly synth chords, lyrics pulled from a hat, and a yelpy vocal hook that has definitely been nicked from somewhere, but it's actually the best single she's released yet.

"You Bring Me Joy" was, for me, neither here nor there. It was bizarrely quite well received, though how some people managed to compare it to Robyn is beyond me. Maybe another singer could have made it emotional, but 18 year old blank canvas Amelia made it patently obvious that it was a song with 3 notes in it. "Shut Up And Give Me Whatever You Got" (*takes breath*) could well have been the wording to a question she asked Kelly Clarkson's songwriters. The flaccid electro-rock anthem has "whatever you got" written all over it.

In reality, the chirpy, gutsy Amelia is not perhaps as edgy as her management would have us believe. So "Party Over", with its fist-punching anonymity, ends up suiting her the best by a mile. It also sounds like its the most fun she's had since her first X Factor audition.

Whilst the public seem to want her to follow in the footsteps of powerhouse vocalists such as Clarkson and even Aguilera, the fact is, she's much more likely to succeed if she averts her focus to someone like Rita Ora. No pretense, no discernible personality, just the fun-loving face of vacuous party anthems. At 18, she's got plenty of time for the heavy-going stuff later on in her career. Party first, soulsearch later.

Dr Meaker - Skyfall (Adele Cover) (Me Darker Mix)

On the whole, Adele remixes have always made me cringe. The last place I want to hear the queen of heartbreak balladry is on the dancefloor. However, upcoming Drum'n'Dubstep fiends Dr Meaker, have managed to take one of Adele's most forlorn and melodramatic numbers, and with their harder Me Darker mix (an anagram of Dr Meaker, see that right there?) turn it into a tense, breakneck speed Drum and Bass track, with a killer drop on the chorus. "Let the sky fall" sounds despairing when Adele sings it on her original Bond theme, but here, it's positively euphoric.

Sub Focus - 'Tidal Wave' (feat. Alpines)

Just when it seemed no 2012 EDM track would top the glorious "Out The Blue", along comes a track that stumps even that track with its sheer euphoric beauty and emotional high. "Tidal Wave" takes the angelic, La Roux-esque vocals of Alpines, and pairs it with an epic yet jagged edged march that bursts into break-beat just as you get comfy with it, synth fireworks abound. More of a vocal track than "Out The Blue", it's also a lot warmer and dare I say more beautiful. And for what was thus far a front runner for dance track of the year, this speaks volume upon volume on how incredible Sub Focus' sophomore effort could be.

Think "Out The Blue" merged with Labrinth's "Earthquake" and the legendary Skream mix of La Roux's "In For The Kill". As Zane Lowe says: "Massive, Massive, MASSIVE!"

The most gleeful moment? 3.33.
